Over 200 enterprises looted 18.1 billion soums in 2022

Last year, 18.1 billion soums were looted by the companies, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services reported.

Based on residents’ appeals, in 2022, the Housing Fund Inspectorate investigated the activities of about 1,000 companies providing services to multi-apartment buildings.

As a result of studies, it was found that 18.1 billion soums of funds were spent without purpose by 212 housing owners’ associations.

In particular,

•  778.9 million soums were added to the volume of construction and repair works in 15 cases;
•  758.1 million soums of credit were stolen in 18 cases;
•  in 149 cases, 15.5 billion soums of compulsory contributions collected from owners were used for no purpose;
•  in 15 cases, other offenses and deficiencies worth 1.1 billion soums were committed.

Appropriate measures were applied to offenders. Including:

•  officials of 50 companies were prosecuted;
•  6 heads of companies were sentenced to prison by law enforcement agencies;
•  more than 700 million soums were returned to the accounts of companies.
