Uzbekistan simplifies procedure for export of jewelry from the republic
Now ready-made jewelry worth up to 100 million soums can be taken out without filling out a passenger customs declaration.
Individuals can take ready-made jewelry worth up to 100 million soums out of the customs territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan without filling out a passenger customs declaration, and those worth 100 million soums and more can be taken out of the customs territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of a passenger customs declaration, the State Customs Committee reported.
According to the previous procedure, ready-made jewelry worth up to $5,000 could be taken out of Uzbekistan without filling out a passenger customs declaration.
According to the procedure established by the President’s decision PQ-452 of December 23, 2022, individual entrepreneurs producing jewelry can take jewelry out of the customs territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan for commercial purposes without entering the data into the single electronic information system of Foreign Trade Operations, filling out the passenger customs declaration.
In addition, from February 1, 2023, refining enterprises and jewelry manufacturers were exempted from the obligation to obtain a license to:
- place precious metals and raw materials containing precious metals in the customs regime of processing in the customs territory;
- export and import of special types of goods, when taking out of the customs territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan precious metals and processing products of raw materials containing precious metals placed under the customs regime for processing in the customs territory.
Until January 1, 2026, import customs duties on pearls, diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones have been set at 0%.
