Bakhtiyor Rahmonov becomes acting governor of Tashkent city
He replaced Jahongir Artikhodjayev, who was fired after the energy crisis in the capital.
The first deputy mayor of Tashkent Bakhtiyor Rahmonov has been appointed acting governor of the capital.
He was born in 1959 in Tashkent region. In 1981, he graduated from the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute, and in 2000, from the Academy of State and Social Development under the President of Uzbekistan.
Rahmonov worked in leadership positions for many years. Since January 2021, he had been working as the first deputy mayor of the city of Tashkent for architecture, capital construction and communications development.
