President cuts duration of his visit to Singapore
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev decided to cut the duration of his visit to Singapore from 3 to 1 day due to the current energy crisis in Uzbekistan caused by cold weather conditions.
During his visit to Singapore, President Mirziyoyev is expected to hold talks with the President of the country Halimah Yacob and PM Lee Hsien Loong.
The parties will discuss further expanding bilateral relations and deepening trade-economic and investment cooperation.
Uzbekistan considers this visit important as it is necessary to study the valuable experience of Singapore in the fight against corruption.
It is planned to attract additional investment from Singapore in the amount of up to $4.7 billion. In particular, investments will be attracted to the privatization of inefficient state enterprises.
Mirziyoyev was planning to hold talks with business circles in Singapore, but after he announced that the duration of the visit would be reduced, certain changes are expected to the agenda of the trip.
