Uzbekistan’s population increasing by about 2.1 thousand people every day
As of January 1, 2023, the permanent population of Uzbekistan was 36,024,946 people.
According to the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan, the population of the republic increased by 753.6 thousand people in 2022 (62.8 thousand people every month).
Every day in 2022, the number of permanent residents grew by 2.1 thousand people on average.
In terms of population, Uzbekistan ranks third in the CIS and 41st in the world.
The agency noted that 18,335.7 thousand of the population lives in urban areas and 17,689.2 thousand – in rural areas.
