Large consignment of drugs confiscated in Namangan 

As part of the fight against the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, employees of the Namangan Regional SSS Department, in cooperation with the regional DIA and the customs department, conducted several operative events. 

A Cobalt car traveling on the “Tashkent - Namangan” route was stopped in the village of Gurumsaray, Pop district. When the car was inspected in the presence of impartial parties, it was found that there was 1 kg 874 grams of “opium” in the car tire, and it belonged to a citizen living in Namangan who was traveling in the car as a passenger. It was found that this substance was smuggled by third parties from Tajikistan to Bekabad district of Tashkent region.

Also, a Lasetti car traveling on the “Namangan-Tashkent” route was stopped at the “Namangan muntazam” post-patrol station in the Pop district. When the car was inspected, it was found that there was 901 grams of “opium” belonging to a citizen of Urta Chirchik district of Tashkent region, who was traveling as a passenger. Allegedly, he was convicted of a crime related to drugs. This narcotic substance was transferred by third parties from Kyrgyzstan to the territory of Uychi district, Namangan region.

In another case, a Lada Vesta car, driven by a citizen of Tashkent city, was stopped and checked at the “Namangan muntazam” post-patrol station. During the inspection, 4,704 units of Regapen and 1,198 units of Tropikamid powerful drugs, which were placed in the car’s rear door covering, were found. The operation was continued, and based on his instructions, 3,130 units of Tropikamid strong potent drugs were seized from the house of a person living in Namangan city. The citizen’s brother, who was previously convicted of the same crime, was also involved in this illegal work. It was identified that these strong potent drugs were transferred to Yangikurgan district by a Kyrgyz citizen.

Currently, in connection with the above facts, criminal cases have been initiated against these persons by the Namangan Regional SSS Department under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Investigative activities are underway.
