Illegal use of electricity caused the state 5.6 billion soums of damage in January
In the past month, consumers illegally used 6.7 million kWh of electricity worth 5.6 billion soums.

In the course of control measures carried out jointly with the Uzenergoinspektsiya, the Ministry of Energy and law enforcement agencies revealed the illegal use of 6.7 million kWh of electricity in 511 cases.
This amount of electricity is equal to the average monthly consumption of 33,500 households.
Most cases of illegal use of electricity were detected in Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Khorezm, Bukhara and Tashkent regions.
Measures were taken against violators in accordance with the established procedure, the relevant documents were sent to law enforcement agencies.
