Uzbekistan allocates 1.33 trillion UZS for extended energy support in 2025
The National Agency for Social Protection has announced the launch of applications for monthly compensation for gas and electricity costs, extending support to low-income families throughout the entire year – not just during winter.
As previously reported, a new procedure for granting compensation for gas and electricity to vulnerable families was introduced in Uzbekistan starting May.
Under this new system, payments will no longer be limited to the winter period (November–February) but will now be issued monthly all year round.
According to the National Agency for Social Protection, as of June 1, applications are being accepted from families in need.
Compensation is available to the following categories:
- Families included in the Unified Social Protection Register and the Register of Low-Income Families, provided the monthly income per family member is below 669,000 UZS;
- Families not listed in either register but who possess minimal property and have a monthly income below 1 million UZS per family member are also eligible.
It was noted that during the 2024–2025 heating season, low-income families received support totaling 313.6 billion UZS. Now, this support system is being significantly expanded: in 2025, a total of 1.33 trillion UZS is planned to be allocated for energy compensation.
Applications can be submitted through Inson Social Service Centers, local mahalla social workers, or by calling the hotline at 1140.
