President’s Special Representative for Afghanistan discusses regional security issues with British Ambassador
Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks with British Ambassador Tim Torlot on February 14.
According to the MFA, during the conversation, the parties discussed issues of regional security, including the development of the situation in Afghanistan, as well as possible joint actions to resolve the situation in that country.
Tim Torlot praised Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, and provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
Special attention was also paid to the implementation of the initiative of Uzbekistan’s leadership to create an International Negotiating Group under the auspices of the UN.
