Uzbekistan to put into operation 3 TPPs with a total capacity of 4633 MW by 2026
Large energy facilities will be built in cooperation with foreign companies in Sirdarya and Surkhandarya.
The Ministry of Energy has provided information about the thermal power plants (TPPs) planned to be put into operation within 3 years.
By the end of 2023, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,500 MW will be commissioned by the Saudi Arabian company ACWA Power in Shirin city and Boyovut district, Syrdarya region.
By the end of 2026, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1560 MW will be put into operation in the Angor district of Surkhandarya region by the companies Siemens Energy (Germany), EDF (France), and Stone City Energy (the Netherlands).
In 2026, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1573 MW will be commissioned in the Boyovut district of the Syrdarya region by a consortium of companies EDF (France), Nebras (Qatar), Sojitz Corporation (Japan) and Kyuden International Corporation (Japan).
For information, in the last 4 years, agreements have been signed with international companies on the construction of 9 TPPs with a total capacity of 6007 MW on the basis of direct investment. As part of these projects, 6 TPPs with a total capacity of 1,374 MW were commissioned in 2022.
