Uzbekistan, Türkiye ratify prisoner exchange agreement
The president signed the law “On the ratification of the agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Türkiye on the exchange of prisoners”.
The document was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on October 18, 2022, and approved by the Senate on December 27, 2022.
The agreement was developed in accordance with the plan of measures to strengthen security, military and military-technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
After the document comes into force, citizens of both countries who are accused of committing crimes and deprived of their freedom will be permitted to serve the sentence in their home country.
