Legislators pass bill aimed at preventing torture
The bill, aimed at preventing actions related to torture against individuals in detention, was adopted today, January 21, during the latest session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

The bill proposes amendments to the "Law on Detention during Criminal Proceedings," specifically introducing a procedure for mandatory medical examination of individuals before they are placed in a detention center.
If any injuries or signs of harm are found during the medical examination, the prosecutor is required to be notified immediately.
The adoption of this bill will help prevent unlawful actions related to torture against individuals in detention.
