Head of UzAuto: There will be no queues for cars very soon, just be patient
Chairman of Uzavtosanoat Shavkat Umrzakov said that the problem of queues will be solved by increasing car production. “There will be no queue, believe me, just patient a little,” he said.

During the presentation of the Chevrolet Onix car at the plant in Asaka, Chairman of Uzavtosanoat Shavkat Umrzakov spoke about the problem with the delivery of cars purchased by UzAuto Motors.
According to Gazeta.uz, he answered the question about the possibility of getting a car without waiting in in a queue by paying extra money, that is, about the possibility of legalizing the additional payment among the people.
“I am against this proposal, it is wrong. I said that we will not be limited to 500 thousand in production. Car queues are available all over the world. I don’t approve it. But we can overcome this reduction in car delivery time only by mass production of cars. It would be wrong to say that one should pay more money to get the vehicle produced by our country faster,” the head of Uzavtosanoat said.
According to him, the company faces many external and internal problems. Umrzakov cited as an example that in 2018, the price of one container was $5,000, and now it has increased to $15,000.
“People say that the price of our car is increasing, but in terms of dollar, it has become cheaper until today. We pay so much tax, we do not receive a single soum for projects from the state, seeing our own income or development, external financial institutions give the money,” Shavkat Umrzakov said.
“In Andijan itself, we will build four new factories worth 250-300 million dollars this year. What does it give? Imagine that 80,000 cars were produced in 2016 and 120,000 in 2017. We are manufacturing 330,000 vehicles today. This year we will release more than 400,000. There will be no queue, believe me, just be patient a little,” the chairman of Uzavtosanoat said.
It should be recalled that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the machinery industry in February 2022 and instructed to reduce the prepayment amount for cars from 85% to 50% and to completely eliminate queues for buying cars by May 1. Also, it was said that the customers waiting in line will be sent a notification with the exact date of delivery of their car.
Although the advance payment amount has been reduced by 50%, queues of several months remain.
