Head of the MFA Department of Cooperation with European Countries and EU Institutions, Oybek Shakhavdinov, held talks with Sylvain Guillaume, Deputy Director of the Department of Continental Europe of the French MFA via videoconferencing.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to France and Portugal Sardor Rustamboyev and Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan Aurelia Bouchez also participated in the online meeting.
During the meeting, issues of timely implementation of all agreements reached as a result of the high-level visit to France, including agreements in the trade-economic and investment spheres, were discussed.
The parties decided to hold the visit of the Minister of Foreign Trade, Economic Attraction and French Citizens Abroad to Uzbekistan in April of this year, as well as the 9th meeting of the Uzbekistan-France intergovernmental commission on trade-economic issues, as well as bilateral meetings with the participation of French MEDEF enterprises.
The issue of holding the 14th round of political consultations between the two countries in Paris in 2023 was also discussed.
Recently, an agreement was reached on mutual cooperation on increasing the volume of export of textile products from Uzbekistan to French markets and effective use of the GSP+ system of general preferences.
In the field of education, in particular, special attention was paid to the establishment of the Uzbekistan-France joint university and the establishment of the “French Alliance” in the city of Samarkand.
