More than 50 Uzbeks stuck on a highway in Kazakhstan
Over the past day, due to the restriction of traffic for freight and passenger vehicles in Kazakhstan, rescuers of the Emergency Situations Department of the Aktobe region evacuated 93 people.
Among the evacuees were citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Zakon reports.
According to the publication, on February 24 at 22:50, at 964 km of highway “Samara – Shymkent” passing through the Aitekebi district, the forces of the Emergency Situations Department escorted a Yutong passenger bus (en route Bishkek-Moscow) to the village of Karabutak. 41 citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were evacuated to the heating point (central mosque).
52 rescuers and 14 vehicles were involved in the rescue operations.
In addition, on February 25 at 04:05, in Aktobe, due to a technically faulty Setra passenger bus (en route Shymkent-Moscow), 54 people were evacuated to the heating point of the Janakonis village (mosque), 52 of them were citizens of Uzbekistan.
The Emergency Department of the Aktobe region strongly recommends that citizens monitor weather changes, do not leave if the weather conditions worsen and restrictions on the movement of vehicles on the roads are introduced.
