Senate to convene for next plenary session on March 2 

Today, February 28, a regular meeting of the Council of the Senate of Oliy Majlis was held. During the event, a resolution was adopted to convene the thirty-seventh plenary session of the Senate on March 2 this year. 

According to the parliamentary press service, a number of laws and issues are planned to be discussed at the plenary session, which will be held via videoconferencing. 

Among them are the laws: 

- “On competition”;
- “On amendments to the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of responsibility for obstructing the legitimate medical activities of a medical worker”; 
- “On introducing additions and amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the increased responsibility for obstructing the performance of official duties by pedagogical workers”; 
- On making additions to the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On state duty”. 

Also, the laws “On introducing amendments and additions to the Criminal and Penitentiary Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On introducing amendments to Article 15 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On consumer credit” in connection with improving the system for providing financial consumer credit”, “On introducing amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of additional measures to ensure effective protection of the rights of citizens and business entities in relations with state bodies” and “On introducing additions and amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” will be discussed. 

Along with this, senators will consider the activities of the Senate of Oliy Majlis in 2022 and priority tasks for 2023, as well as hear information from the director of the National Center for Human Rights on the state of implementation of the international obligations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights.
