Coca-Cola to build a new plant worth $27.7 million in Namangan
It is expected that the annual cost of production at the enterprise will be $75 million.
Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan plans to build a new plant in Namangan, the press service of the Namangan regional administration reported.
On March 2, a delegation headed by the Director General of Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan Ezel Ağaoğlu visited Namangan and met with the governor of Namangan region.
The cost of the project is estimated at $27.7 million. The plant will be built entirely at the expense of foreign investment. It is expected that as a result of this, an additional 300 jobs will be created, and the annual cost of production at the enterprise will be $75 million.
The company is implementing a project for the construction of a new plant in the Ibrat block of the “Namangan” Special Economic Zone. In addition, the company managed to coordinate all issues related to land and water.
“We chose Namangan because entrepreneurship and other areas of the region are developing, and there are all opportunities for this. We see this from our own experience,” Ezel Ağaoğlu justified the choice of Namangan.
The company already has an operating plant in Namangan. In addition to it, production is carried out at two enterprises – in Urgench and Tashkent.
Coca-Cola İçecek closed the deal to privatize Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan in September 2021. The state package of 57.1% of the shares cost the distributor $252 million.
The purchase was preceded by almost nine months of negotiations after the Turkish company submitted a bid in January of that year. Bidders submitted their price proposals in June, and in August it became known that Coca-Cola İçecek would buy the asset.
