President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan started from Kegeyli district. Here, the head of state met Karakalpak people and took part in the commissioning ceremony of 6 new production facilities, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
At the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about the results of his visit to Karakalpakstan last year. According to the President, in August 2022, tasks for the economic and social development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan were determined, and a major decision and program was adopted. In accordance with them:
- 670 billion soums and $340 million were allocated in 2023;
- in order to create an attractive business environment for entrepreneurs, the profit, turnover tax, land and property taxes have been reduced by 2 times;
- social tax is set at 1%;
- 75% of commercial loans to entrepreneurs of this region will be guaranteed by the Entrepreneurship Fund;
- ministers, regional governors, heads of offices and banks are assigned to each district.
“We have a lot of work to do and our people can see it. They themselves give a fair assessment of these changes. We are one people and one country! All regions are determined to contribute to the development of Karakalpakstan. The results of this are visible in all districts and these things will not stop,” the President said.
In Karakalpakstan, the production of chemicals, building materials, food, textiles and pharmaceuticals has more than doubled in recent years, and the production of 61 types of new products has been launched.
If they are expressed in numbers, in the last 6 years in Karakalpakstan:
- more than 5 thousand 300 projects have been implemented with an investment of 15 trillion soums;
- the number of entrepreneurs has doubled (from 11,000 to 23,000), 46,000 permanent jobs have been created;
- production in 6 districts, which previously had the lowest industry, increased by 2-3 times, and its share in Karakalpakstan reached 12% (in 2016 – 7%).
In Karauzak, the industry increased by 5 times, in Ellikkala, Muynak, Takhtakupir by 3 times, in Shumanay and Nukus districts by 2 times, production in these districts reached 2 trillion soums (300 billion soums in 2016).
