Uzbekistan, Sweden discuss issues of cooperation on water resources management

The Embassy of our country in Stockholm organized an online meeting between the Ministry of Water Resources of Uzbekistan and the Swedish Marine and Water Management Agency.

Director General of the Swedish Marine and Water Management Agency Jakob Granit, heads of departments of this organization John Kling, Mikael Krisell, Patrik Stromberg and analyst Ulrika Stensdotter spoke about Sweden’s experience in the field of water management.

Director of the Information-Analytical and Resource Center of the Ministry of Water Resources Zokir Ishpulatov informed the Swedish experts about the ongoing work in Uzbekistan on water management and the use of renewable energy sources, as well as plans for the future.

Jakob Granit highly appreciated the ongoing large-scale work to eliminate the consequences of the Aral tragedy, announced during the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan on March 23 at the UN water conference in New York.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources and the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Resources Management, including seminars and joint events.
