This became known on April 3 during a meeting on measures to modernize heating systems in social facilities, which was chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the press service of the head of state, in recent years, coal production in the country has increased from 3 million to 5.4 million tons.
This year it is planned to produce almost 6 million tons. At the same time, the demand for coal is much greater.
“In this regard, the President gave instructions on attracting the private sector and new technologies to the development of promising deposits, improving the quality of coal,” the press service concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that in Uzbekistan, the heating systems of thousands of schools, hospitals and factories are planned to be converted to coal so that the situation with the energy crisis does not happen again.
