Citizens withdrew over 39.6 trillion soums in three months
In January-March 2023, the total amount of cash receipts (cash and through terminals) amounted to 140.8 trillion soums, and increased by 37.0% compared to the same period in 2022.
This is stated in the CB report “A brief review of cash circulation”.
There was an increase in the share of receipts through terminals in the total amount of cash receipts from 31.2% in the first quarter of 2022 to 37.6%, respectively, in 2023.
In January-March 2023, the volume of bank cash turnover amounted to 173.9 trillion soums, and increased by 23.6% compared to the same period in 2022. In particular, the flow of cash to banks increased by 24.2% compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 87.8 trillion soums.
For the first quarter of 2023, the issuance of cash from the cash register of banks (including through ATMs) increased by 23.0% compared to January-March 2022 and amounted to 86.1 trillion soums.
In addition, in January-March 2023, credits to bank cards (163.8 trillion soums) increased by 1.7 times compared to the same period in 2022, and during this period funds were cashed from bank cards in the amount of 39.6 trillion soums.
Also, according to the Central Bank, in January-March 2023, there was a decrease in the volume of cash put into circulation by 2.2 trillion soums.
