Central Bank imposes fines on eight banks
In November, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan issued fines to eight banks, seven payment organizations, and twelve microfinance organizations for regulatory violations identified during inspections.
The Committee on Supervision under the Central Bank issued warnings to 22 banks and three payment organizations for various breaches of regulations and economic norms established by the Central Bank.
The imposed fines were a result of non-compliance with the Central Bank's legislation and economic standards, as well as other violations uncovered during these inspections. However, the Central Bank did not disclose the names of the institutions or the specific amounts of the fines imposed.
In addition, as per the decision of the Banking Supervision Committee, seven banks have been recognized as systemically significant for 2025, indicating their importance to the financial stability of the banking sector.
