A man attacks schoolgirl in Tashkent
Social networks circulated a report that a man attacked a young girl who was returning from school in Mirabad district.
According to representatives of the Nemolchi.uz project, the victim is 17 years old.
Reportedly, an investigative team is working on the spot, the identity of the attacker is being established.
“We do not exclude that it could be harassment. According to the new law, a special administrative responsibility is established for harassment of a person in public places, a fine of up to 1.5 million soums (or up to 5 days of arrest) will be imposed for such actions,” the report reads.
Nemolchi.uz also reminded about the “Safe City” project.
“Back in 2020, the relevant departments reported that so many CCTV cameras were installed in the capital. But in fact, there are practically no cameras in residential areas and arrays. And if they are some, they are often out of order. Judging by the video, the CCTV camera was installed on the territory of a private premises, most likely by a private person. After the death of the girl in the Yangihayot district, everyone suddenly remembered about the cameras,” they said.
The press service of the Tashkent city DIA has not yet commented on the above incident.
