Police detain a 17-year-old boy using counterfeit 100,000-soum banknotes
With counterfeit money, the young man purchased sweets and soft drinks.
A 17-year-old resident of Zarafshan was detained in Navoi. He tried to put counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 100,000 soums into circulation, the regional DIA reported.
He used fake money in a local store to make purchases and received real banknotes as change.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1, Article 176 (Production, sale of counterfeit money, excise stamps or securities) and Part 2, Article 25 (Preparation for a crime and attempted crime) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
