The Tashkent city administration is trying to promote the use of public transport, cycling and walking.
On April 28, the city will have a car-free day.
Such initiatives are held around the world since 1995.
“This initiative is important, on the one hand, as a promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population, and on the other hand, maintaining stability in the environment, minimizing the release of toxic gases into nature.
Therefore, within the framework of this day, many events will be organized aimed at reducing the movement of private cars, promoting the benefits of using public transport, cycling and walking among the population,” the city administration says.
