Police rescue a woman who tried to commit suicide with her child in Tashkent
A young mother and a one-year-old baby were pulled out of the canal by police officers who were on duty nearby.
On April 25, around 23:00, two police officers on duty near the Bozsuv canal noticed a woman jumping into the water with a child in her arms.
One of the officers, Private Elnur Kalikulov, jumped into the water and pulled out the child first, and then the mother.
They were hospitalized at the city hospital No. 7, where they received all the necessary assistance.
It turned out that the 20-year-old native of Bukhara, who was abandoned by her common-law husband, found no other way out but to kill herself along with her child.
Currently, psychologists are working with her, the child has been temporarily transferred to the orphanage.
