Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Umid Shodiyev met with Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO of BEEAH Group, one of the UAE’s major waste management companies.

The talks covered the UAE’s experience in waste collection, sorting and recycling, as well as the efficient use of waste, deployment of digital technologies and generation of electricity from waste.

BEEAH Group expressed interest in implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan through public-private partnerships.

Among the proposals discussed was the creation of a supply base of recycled materials for industrial enterprises by processing waste. The parties also considered introducing Smart Waste Collection systems for digital monitoring of waste collection and transportation, as well as exploring Waste-to-Energy technologies to generate electricity from waste.

The sides agreed to continue working on cooperation and examine potential investment projects in greater detail.

BEEAH Group plans to submit proposals on a possible cooperation model in the near future. Online talks involving relevant Uzbek organizations are expected to be held by the end of August, followed by a visit by the company’s management to Uzbekistan in the second half of September.

The proposed cooperation is expected to support the modernization of Uzbekistan’s waste management and recycling system, increase the use of recycled materials and introduce advanced environmental technologies.
