On April 27, the review of the sexual crime case committed against the girls brought up in the family orphanage in Khorezm began on April 27. The trial is taking place in Tashkent. Akrom Utayev, judge of the Supreme Court’s Criminal Trial Panel, informed Kun.uz about this.
“Yulduz Khudoyberganova, the former head of family orphanage No. 1 in Urganch, was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the court of first instance. At the court session on April 27, a decision was made to bring her to Tashkent, where she is currently serving her sentence. The next court session is scheduled for May 4,” Akrom Utayev said.
According to an official of the Supreme Court, Oybek Masharipov, the former head of the Khorezm regional justice department, and Anvar Kuryazov, the head of Yangiarik district emergency department, who had sex with 15-17-year-old children of the family orphanage in Urganch and were sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment by the court of first instance for this crime, are currently out of prison. No precautionary measures related to imprisonment have been applied against them.
The judge explained this by the fact that the trial has just begun, and the two officials have not yet been summoned to court. He explained that after Yulduz Khudoyberganova was transferred from the penal institution in Khorezm to Tashkent, her testimony will be heard in court. Then other defendants, victims and witnesses in the criminal case will be interrogated and give testimony in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The verdict of the court of first instance was passed in September of last year, and by December, the case was reconsidered in the Khorezm regional court on appeal. It is noteworthy that the application for appeal was filed by the three criminals themselves. That is, the manager hoped that the 5.5-year prison sentence, and the two officials’ 1.5-year sentence (not leaving the house at night) will be further simplified. The regional court left the sentence unchanged.
