Around 200 citizens of Uzbekistan, including infants, stuck at Sharm el-Sheikh airport
Uzbekistan Airports named the reason for the 10-hour flight delay from Sharm el-Sheikh to Tashkent.
Air Cairo flight SM771 on the Sharm El Sheikh – Tashkent route is delayed by more than 10 hours at the Egyptian airport. More than 200 citizens of Uzbekistan, including infants, are waiting for departure to Tashkent.
As the press service of Uzbekistan Airports explained, the flight was delayed due to adverse weather conditions in Sharm el-Sheikh, as well as due to the expiration of the crew's work time.
It is planned that the plane from Sharm el-Sheikh to Tashkent departs at 15:00 Tashkent time and arrives at 19:30.
Due to a long delay, the schedule of flight SM772 (Tashkent - Sharm el-Sheikh) has also been changed. Departure from Tashkent is scheduled for 20:30 on May 17, arrival in Sharm el-Sheikh - at 01:55 on May 18, Tashkent time.
“Passengers departing from Tashkent International Airport are aware of the flight delay. They are recommended to go home if they wish to, or they may wait for the flight at the terminal,” Uzbekistan Airports said.
