Modernization of Tupalang HPP completed
The governor of Surkhandarya region and the chairman of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC got acquainted with the work completed as part of the modernization at the Tupalang HPP.
75 million 400 thousand euros were spent on the re-equipment of the HPP with modern technologies and other work. The main goal is stable electricity generation, UzA reports.
“These days, when the test work is being completed, the hydroelectric power plant generates 64 MW. This environmentally friendly electricity is enough to provide electricity to more than 36,000 residential buildings in the Surkhandarya region,” the report reads.
After completion of the tests, the power will be 175 MW. Consumers will annually receive 467 million kilowatt/hours of electricity, which will save 126.2 million cubic meters of natural gas.
The regional governor got acquainted with the work process. Suggestions and recommendations were made for the effective use of new technologies. An exchange of views took place on eliminating the energy deficit.
