Reportedly, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Jakhongir Ganiyev held talks with Director of Institutional Relations of Almar Water Solutions of Spain Luis Blanco and Head of Department of Marketing and Business Development Manuel Garcia Calvola.
At the meeting, the issues of attracting foreign direct investments and advanced technologies to Uzbekistan, exchange of experience in the field of wastewater treatment facilities were discussed.
The representatives of Spain expressed their great interest in participating with their technologies and investments in the projects of construction and modernization of wastewater treatment facilities in Uzbekistan.
According to foreign information, representatives of Almar Water Solutions participated in the business forum organized within the framework of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Uzbekistan and Spain, held in Tashkent on March 1-2 this year. The company has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Samarkand regional government on the construction and management of a PPP-based waste water treatment plant worth $100 million in the city of Kattakurgan.
Within the framework of this project, the desire of the Spanish company to start research and to continue discussions with the relevant organizations of Uzbekistan in order to develop the necessary documents was noted.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to work out the issue of conducting dialogues with the representatives of responsible organizations on the part of Uzbekistan in order to accelerate the implementation of the planned projects.
