The murderer, who was found to be a very dangerous recidivist, will serve his sentence in a special penal colony.
On May 26, the Yakkasaray district court on criminal proceedings sentenced the person who killed a 12-year-old girl in Yangihayot district. According to the Supreme Court press service, the defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment.
He was found guilty of committing crimes under the following articles of the Criminal Code:
• Article 226-1 (Violation of administrative control rules);
• Paragraph “b” of Article 137-3 (Kidnapping);
• Article 118-4 (Raping);
• Article 119-4 (Satisfaction of sexual desire in an unnatural way using force);
• Paragraph “v” of Article 104-2 (Deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm);
• Paragraphs “v”, “j”, “z”, “o” of Article 97-2 (Intentional murder).
He was sentenced to life imprisonment in accordance with Article 59 of the Criminal Code (Punishment for multiple crimes). Also, according to Paragraph “b” of Article 34-3 (Recidivism) of the Criminal Code, he was found to be a very dangerous recidivist, and the punishment assigned to him was determined to be served in a special order colony.
In addition, in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Code (Application of coercive medical measures to be prescribed along with the punishment), the defendant was ordered to undergo treatment for alcoholism and complex polytoxicosis in prisons.
History of the case
On January 31, 2023, the body of a 12-year-old girl was found in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent, and her neighbor A.T. was arrested on suspicion of murder. The PGO reported that the girl’s body showed signs of rape and murder.
The suspect was a neighbor of the deceased and it was discovered that he performed repair works in the house where she lived. When the girl was being searched for, he also joined the neighbors and searched together, when people wanted to go to the direction where the girl’s body was lying, he distracted them and took them to another place.
The deceased’s mother demanded a life sentence.
This incident caused a resonance among the public, there were calls on social networks to strictly punish the murderer-pedophile, to strengthen the punishment measures against persons prone to pedophilia.
