Emir of Qatar arriving in Uzbekistan
This is the first visit by the Qatari leadership in more than 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

At the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on June 5-6.
Reportedly, the main events of the visit will be held in the city of Samarkand.
At the upcoming high-level talks, the parties will discuss issues of further developing bilateral multifaceted relations, in particular, the continuation of active political contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchange, the implementation of large investment projects in the fields of energy, gas-chemical industry, agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, tourism and other areas.
The sides will also discuss topical issues of international politics and the regional agenda.
Following the meeting, a solid package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents is expected to be signed.
It is noted that the visit of the Emir of Qatar to Uzbekistan will be the first in more than 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two states.
