Samarkand hosts official welcoming ceremony for Emir of Qatar

At the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Soni, is in the country on a state visit.

According to the presidential press service, the main events of the visit began today, June 6, with the official welcoming ceremony of the Qatari leader in the city of Samarkand.

A guard of honor was lined up in front of the Congress Center. The President of Uzbekistan welcomed the high-ranking guest and invited him to the podium. The military orchestra played the national anthems of the two countries.

The heads of state passed in front of the honor guard and welcomed the members of the official delegation. After that, high-level negotiations were held.
