Law enforcement bodies prevent illegal circulation of large amounts of gold and ruby
Illegal circulation of 1,075 kg of gold in Samarkand region and 838 g of ruby in Tashkent city was prevented.
A person carrying a large amount of gold in his private car was detected in Bulungur district, Samarkand region.
When a Nexia car was stopped at the "Yukori Nukta" post by officers of the State Security Service for Navoi and Samarkand regions, it was found that there were 11 pieces of gold weighing 1,075 kg belonging to a resident of Khatirchi district, born in 1983, and it was confiscated. Experts estimated that the value of this 999 proof gold was 795 million soums.
Also, in an operative event conducted by employees of the SSS Department for Tashkent city in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, a citizen (born in 1968) was caught when he agreed to sell a ruby weighing 838 g for $300,000 and received $80,000.
According to experts, the price of this precious stone was 477.3 million soums.
In connection with both cases, a criminal case has been initiated under Paragraph "a", Article 177-4 of the Criminal Code. Currently, an investigation is underway.
