Court verdict announced against a man who beat up female teachers in Surkhandarya
A 34-year-old man who beat two colleagues was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. The defendant has the right to appeal and protest the verdict.
On June 16, 2023, the Uzun district court on criminal proceedings considered a criminal case against the teacher G.T., who worked as a physical education teacher of school No. 31.
According to the court verdict, G.T., who was born in 1988 in Surkhandarya region, Sariosiya district, was found guilty under Paragraph “g”, Article 277-3 (bullying) of the Criminal Code.
Taking into account that the moral and material damages caused to the two victims as a result of the crime were paid and they had no claim against the defendant, he was sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months. It was decided to serve the appointed sentence in penal colonies.
It is noted that the defendant has the right to appeal and protest the verdict.
On April 18, video recordings of two female teachers being beaten by a male teacher in a school in Surkhandarya were circulated.
It shows a meeting with a group of employees, and in the middle of the conversation, a man throws a notebook or book at a woman wearing a headscarf, and then hits her. After that, the man, separated by witnesses, leaves the room. He returns back and punches another woman standing by the door, then the woman with a headscarf again.
