Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with voters in Bukhara

The presidential candidate, among other things, promised to adopt a program for the development of the region, for which up to $27 billion will be allocated.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered an election speech to voters in Bukhara on June 20. The main theses are given by the press service of UzLiDeP.

The presidential candidate of Uzbekistan from UzLiDeP put forward a number of initiatives in the economic and social sphere for the period up to 2030. In particular, it is planned to open an international center of traditional medicine and a pharmaceutical cluster in Bukhara. For these purposes, investments in the amount of $50 million will be attracted.

In the next seven years, the volume of industrial production will increase from the current 27 trillion to 110 trillion soums. In particular, the textile industry will expand the production of synthetic fiber products. 30 new industrial zones will be created in the districts and cities of the region, and a technopark of the electrical industry will be opened in Bukhara.

A large project to produce olefins from methanol worth $2.7 billion is being implemented in the Karakul district.

In general, it is planned to implement 8,000 industrial projects worth $17 billion, which will create 120,000 new jobs.

The tourism potential of Bukhara will also be increased. To this end, an international tourist center will be created, where investments of $600 million will be attracted. Moreover, it is planned to organize a modern beach tourism complex on the territory of the Tudakul reservoir and build a new terminal at the international airport of Bukhara. As a result, the number of foreign tourists visiting Bukhara will grow to 5 million, and the export of tourism services to $1.5 billion.

$800 million of investments will be attracted to agriculture, which will increase the export of products by 10 times – up to $300 million.

In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev promised to adopt a program for the development of the Bukhara region until 2030 and allocate a total of up to $27 billion for it.
