Presidential candidate from UzLiDeP, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a meeting with voters of Syrdarya, talked about the plans for the development of transport and electric energy sectors in the region in the next seven years.
According to the candidate’s plans, 160 new buses will be brought and 60 stations will be built on the basis of modern projects in order to increase the number of public transport trips in the Syrdarya region. More than 600,000 people from Syrdarya will be using this service.
We will update the electric trains purchased 35 years ago on the “Tashkent-Khovos” route. For this, we will bring modern electric trains for $20 million,” the candidate said.
The demand for electricity in the region will increase sharply due to the new production capacities that will be created in the coming years. In this regard, a 220-megawatt steam-gas power plant was launched in Khovos last year with the Turkish company “Cengiz enerji” with an investment of $150 million.
In addition, in the same year, another 1.5 thousand megawatt thermal power station will be put into operation in Boyovut district and Shirin city by ACWA Power company of Saudi Arabia with an investment of 1 billion 100 million dollars.
“In the next two years, a consortium of French, Japanese and Qatari companies will invest 1 billion 100 million dollars and build an additional 1.5 thousand megawatt modern thermal power station,” Mirziyoyev said.
