According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, candidates for the position of a foreign language teacher in state educational institutions must have a national certificate of at least B2 level or an equivalent international one.
Last year, in order to ensure the continuity of the process of teaching foreign languages in schools, the government issued an order stating that from the 2023/2024 academic year, foreign language teachers who do not have a national or international B2 level certificate would not be hired.
Given the above, from the 2023/2024 academic year foreign language teachers entering a new job will need to have a B2 level certificate.
From the 2024/2025 academic year, having a B2 level certificate will become mandatory for all foreign language teachers.
