On July 15, Uzbekistan Airways from Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) to Tashkent delivered the tenth batch of the Daclatasvir drug against hepatitis C, allocated by the Egyptian government as humanitarian aid to our country, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
More than 3,000 packages of Daclatasvir-60 mg in 114 boxes are intended for patients at the Research Institute of Virology under the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that Egypt has made significant progress in the fight against hepatitis B and C viruses. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, the population of the country has completely recovered from this disease, Minister Khaleed Abdughaffar said at the 76th WHO session, which was held in Geneva on May 21-30 this year.
The Egyptian government has developed and is successfully implementing a national program “Healthy lifestyle”, which is expected to allocate $100 million.
It is important to note that this action is carried out in accordance with the agreements concluded during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt on February 20-21, 2023, as well as negotiations between the ministries of health of the two countries.
It should be recalled that in his election program, the President of Uzbekistan put forward an initiative that the treatment of hepatitis C would be carried out in our country at public expense.
