The first LET L-410 aircraft for Uzbekistan Airways has arrived in Tashkent, the press service of the national air carrier reported.
The light aircraft landed at the capital's airport on the afternoon of July 15. Employees of the airport and the airline solemnly welcomed the board and the crew with a water arch.
Uzbekistan Airways agreed to purchase a batch of 4 L-410 aircraft with the Czech company LET Aircraft Industries a month ago. They are planned to be used for the development of local air transportation and domestic tourism.
The company plans to launch L-410 flights to airports with short runways, such as Zarafshan, Shakhrisabz and Andijan. The first flight of the new aircraft will take place this week, the company said.
The L-410 can carry up to 19 passengers or 1.8 tons of cargo for a maximum distance of 1500 km.
