Kuchkarov presented lawmakers with a report on the measures implemented during the first six months of the year under the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy. He said the country had made progress in employment, incomes and poverty reduction despite continued uncertainty in the global economy.
“During the reporting period, 506,000 people were placed in permanent jobs. The incomes of 2.616 million people increased, while the activities of 546,000 informally employed people were legalized,” Kuchkarov said.
He said 104,000 microprojects had been launched to strengthen the economic specialization of local communities, creating jobs for 246,000 people.
The poverty rate also declined to 4.5%, according to Kuchkarov. A total of 2,756 local communities were lifted out of poverty during the reporting period.
Meanwhile, 300,000 services aimed at increasing household incomes were provided to 227,000 low-income families registered in the Social Register.
Nearly 37,800 new small businesses were established in the first half of the year, Kuchkarov added.
He said Uzbekistan’s economy had continued to grow steadily despite a challenging global environment marked by high uncertainty.
Real GDP growth reached 8.5% in the first half of 2026, according to the minister.
State budget spending totaled UZS 205.6 trillion during the period.
