Abdukodir Muminov may be sentenced to 11 years in prison
In connection with the case of Abdukodir Muminov, the prosecutor asked the judge to sentence the defendant to 11 years of imprisonment, restriction of journalistic activity for 3 years, and a fine of 400 BCAs.
The judicial investigation of the case concerning blogger Abdukodir Muminov was completed in the Mirabad district court for criminal proceedings, and court hearings began. During the negotiations, the prosecutor asked for 11 years of imprisonment for the defendant and restriction of journalistic activity for 3 years, the Supreme Court informed Gazeta.uz.
In addition, the prosecutor asked Abdukodir Muminov to be fined 400 BCAs (132,000,000 soums).
It should be recalled that blogger Abdukodir Muminov (born in 1990), the author of the "Ko'zgu" page with 247,000 subscribers on the YouTube platform, is being accused of committing crimes under:
• Article 141-1 (violation of privacy), Part 2, Paragraphs "a", "b";
• Article 165 (extortion), Part 3, Paragraph "a";
• Article 168 (fraud), Part 3, Paragraphs "b", "v", and Part 4, Paragraph "a";
• Article 189 (violation of trade or service regulations), Part 1;
• Article 28, 211-3 (participation in bribery), Paragraph "a".
He was arrested in February on suspicion of fraud and extortion committed in October 2021.
In the court case of blogger Otabek Sattoriy, who was previously arrested on charges of extortion and slander, the prosecutor asked for 11 years of imprisonment. In the end, the court sentenced the blogger to 6 years and 6 months in prison.
