Four young boys drowned in Samarkand while sailing a boat
At the time of the tragedy, there were seven people in the boat, three of them were able to escape by swimming to the shore. Four others, including two college students, were killed.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, on July 30, seven young people O. E., E. U., I. D., S. R., Z. O., O. A. and E. Kh., who live in the Kashkadarya region, arrived in the Samarkand region to celebrate the birthday of their friend M.M.
At around 17:30, they went to the Kattakurgan reservoir to sail a boat. Having sailed from the shore of the reservoir for about 40 meters, they stopped to take a photo. However, they lost their balance, causing the boat to capsize.
Three guys Z. O., O. A. and E. A. managed to swim to the shore. 21-year-old O.E., 25-year-old E.W., 22-year-old S.R. and 21-year-old I.D. were unable to swim to the shore and drowned.
The two dead I.D. and S.R. were students of a technical school in the Pastdargom district.
During the rescue operations, the body of the deceased O.E. was found. Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing.
The district prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the case.
