On August 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference meeting on maintaining price stability by increasing food production and guaranteeing the population and economic sectors with energy resources.

At the meeting, attention was paid to the increasing urgency of saving energy resources in the world.

“Therefore, great achievements have been made in the development of “green energy” and the widespread introduction of energy-saving technologies into the economy in our country.

In order to fully cover the deficit in energy supply, studies were conducted in April in each district and city. On this basis, regional programs for saving 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 7.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were adopted,” the presidential press service reported.

At the meeting, it was noted that there was still no significant result in many regions. In particular, Tashkent region consumed 40 million cubic meters, Tashkent city – 19 million, Samarkand – 13 million, Khorezm – 3.5 million cubic meters more than the plan.

In terms of electricity, not a single district of Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Tashkent region, Fergana and Tashkent city has fulfilled the saving plan.

It was shown that the leaders of the energy complex are not able to systematically organize these things at places.

Since the beginning of the year, a major program for the introduction of renewable energy sources has been launched. In the past period, 430 megawatts of renewable energy sources were put into operation. It is producing 1.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This is equal to 60% of the annual consumption of social sector objects.

An order was given to complete the network and transformer repair works planned for 2023 by August 1. However, the repair works of 1,100 kilometers of networks and 402 transformers in the regions have not yet been completed.

At the meeting, it was criticized that discipline in the consumption of energy resources is still not fully ensured.

In the past seven months, 160 million kilowatt hours of electricity and 290 million cubic meters of gas were illegally used in the regions, and 355 billion soums of damage was caused to network enterprises.

District governors, prosecutors, internal affairs and department heads were warned that if the theft of energy continues in any district, and if unrealistic debts increase, they will be jointly responsible with the heads of electricity and gas.

“I emphasize once again. After a couple of months, the autumn-winter season will begin. It is necessary to start work on its successful implementation, stable operation of the energy system, guaranteed supply of energy resources to the population and economic sectors,” the head of state said.

The heads of the energy complex and governors were given a number of tasks to ensure the stable operation of the system.

In the second half of the year, the production of 30 billion cubic meters of gas and 41 billion kilowatt hours of electricity production, and their uninterrupted supply to consumers, were commissioned.

The task of completing the repair work of 1,100 kilometers of networks and 402 transformers by October 1 was set.

To fully cover the population’s demand, in the autumn-winter season, the population and social sector facilities were assigned to deliver an additional 35,000 gas cylinders to the regions, provide 335,000 tons of liquefied gas without interruption.

The need to produce 400,000 tons of gasoline and import 120,000 tons by the end of the year was emphasized.

Responsible leaders will shift to emergency mode starting today to ensure stable operation of the energy system during the autumn-winter season.

The leadership of the energy complex, together with regional governors and branch managers, will take measures to save 3.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and 2.4 billion cubic meters of gas by the end of the year.

The importance of installing another 250 megawatts of solar panels in social sector facilities, state offices, and business facilities was highlighted.

At the meeting, the report of the regional and network leaders was heard.
