Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agree on the supply of electricity in autumn-winter season
The Ministers of Energy of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed on the revision of the current agreements on the mutual supply of electricity in the autumn-winter season, the introduction of hourly electricity accounting mechanisms, the regulation of unscheduled flows and discussed other issues.
The Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov took part in the meeting of the representatives of energy and water management agencies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan held in Astana on August 25-26, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported.
During the event, the issues of electricity supply in the coming autumn-winter season were discussed, a number of mutual agreements were reached, the volumes and terms of supply were determined.
Also, the leaders agreed to work out the possibilities of introducing the mechanism of hourly calculation of electric energy, to conclude contracts on calculation of unplanned flows between economic entities, to revise the current conditions of contracts on calculation of unplanned flows.
According to the Ministry of Energy, implementation of cross-border hydropower projects, in particular, "Qambarota-1" HPP project and strengthening of relations in the field of water and energy resources were also discussed at the meeting.
The next meeting is planned to be held in Bishkek in November 2023.
