Customs officers prevent illegal import of 550 smartphones into Uzbekistan
Customs officers have prevented the illegal import of 550 smartphones into the country. Their estimated cost is around 5.8 billion soums.
During an operational event carried out jointly by the Fergana regional anti-smuggling department of the Customs Committee, the State Security Service, and the Internal Affairs Directorate, the illegal import of mobile devices into the territory of Uzbekistan was prevented.
At the entrance to the Namangan region, a Cobalt car was stopped, which was heading from Fergana to Tashkent.
In the cabin and trunk of the car, 550 mobile phones of 24 different brands and models were found without documents confirming customs clearance. Of these, about 250 were iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and about 100 were Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S23 FE.
The total cost of goods amounted to 5 billion 788.9 million soums.
A pre-investigation check is being carried out on this fact.
