Handpay system may be launched at Tashkent metro stations
Handpay, a system that allows you to pay the fare by scanning your hand, can be launched at the stations of Tashkent metro. It will be launched once the Face ID system has covered all the stops.
The Handpay (by hand scanning) payment system can be launched at the stations of the Tashkent metro. A representative of the ATTO payment system informed Gazeta.uz about this at the ICTExpo exhibition.
According to the chief specialist of the company, Otabek Alimov, this innovation was created in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, UZINFOCOM company.
“Today we are demonstrating the Handpay system within the framework of the exhibition. In this case, customers pay by showing their hand to the scanner. To use this service, you need to enter information into our app, like Facepay (a system that allows you to pay the fare with a person’s face), which is currently being tested at the Buyuk Ipak Yo‘li metro station. At the same time, the opinions and suggestions of the population regarding the new system are being studied,” he said.
The expert noted that the Facepay system will be launched after 100% coverage of all metro stations and people get used to it. Guidelines for its use will be developed.
In September, testing of the Face ID device at both entrances of the Buyuk Ipak Yo‘li metro station began. If the test is successful, it is said that this system will be introduced at other stations as well.
