Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree aimed at simplifying the sale of jewelry, the Ministry of Justice reported.
The cost of jewelry, which individuals are allowed to export from Uzbekistan without a declaration, is increasing. Now the declaration will need to be filled out only when exporting jewelry worth over 100 million soums.
Prior to this, the maximum amount was $5,000 (61.17 million soums at the CB exchange rate). Last November, the president ordered that the amount be doubled to $10,000.
In addition, the export of products is simplified for jewelers who are individual entrepreneurs. If they have a completed declaration, they are allowed to export jewelry for sale abroad without registering it in the unified electronic system of foreign trade transactions.
The previous decree on liberalization of the jewelry market was signed in February 2021. Then, in particular, jewelers were allowed to sell jewelry online.
