On November 1, Turkish Airlines grappled with a major system failure in its reservation system, leading to the cancellation of dozens of flights. The disruption unraveled into long queues at check-in and hotel booking counters, stranding many passengers in a labyrinth of uncertainty.
According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, the following flights were canceled due to a technical issue:
Nov. 1:
THY-370 Istanbul – Tashkent
THY-364 Istanbul – Tashkent
November 2:
THY-371 Tashkent – Istanbul
THY-365 Tashkent – Istanbul
Flight TK-4331 (Tashkent - Istanbul), delayed on November 1, will be operated today, November 2, from the capital's airport at 13:50 local time.
Other upcoming scheduled flights have been canceled for now.
People were advised to check information on flights with airline representatives.
Turkish Airlines issued a statement saying that the problem has been resolved and operations are returning gradually to normal.
Reservation changes will be made free of charge and unused tickets will be refunded without any deductions due to the technical disruption, the company said in a statement on its website.
"No-show penalty will not be charged to passengers who have not yet taken action even though their flight time has passed," the statement said.
